Title: Family and Educational Support to Families and Parenting: Between Dysfunctionality and Quality within Educational Care

Abstract: The contemporary notion of 'family' has transitioned, culturally and historically, from a single marital nucleus to a model of multiple families, whose internal dynamics and external relationships with society are characterised by greater complexity and variety. Family can be described, thus, as a system: on the one hand, it fulfils a role which is simultaneously biological, psychological, social and cultural, yet it cannot be taken for granted on a pedagogical level, since the family complex can be, to various extents, dysfunctional. On the other hand, the public has the social responsibility to make use of services set up for the support of families and parenting. These services often encounter issues in their development, so their setting up and evolution needs a system of regular monitoring, revisions and supervision that are pedagogically informed, both for their initial creation and in their eventual functioning, in terms of Adult Education. Departing from this context of theoretical restoration of the complexity of the family system, from the critical issues faced by family support services from the initial formation of specialist pedagogy professionals (as a cultural, professional and existential factor) in university and work environments, this article introduces further substantiation by reflecting on data yielded by qualitative research endeavours in the province of Reggio Emilia, operated both in the field of nucleuses emerging from the relationship between families (such as educational environments or systems) and in the services for family education.

Title: Famiglia e sostegno educativo alla famiglia e alla genitorialità: tra disfunzionalità e qualità della cura educativa

Abstract: La famiglia contemporanea si costituisce, entro una transizione storico-culturale da un prevalente modello nucleare-coniugale a molteplici modelli di "famiglie" caratterizzate da maggiori complessità e variabilità negli equilibri interni e nei rapporti con la società, come un sistema (con una genitorialità sempre più in evoluzione): da un lato, la famiglia esprime e assolve funzioni biologiche, psicologiche, sociali e culturali, senza per questo garantirsi come assoluto pedagogico, perché può essere irrimediabilmente segnata da (e/o può incorporare) cifre di disfunzionalità; dall'altro, conseguentemente, si rende necessario sul piano della co-responsabilità sociale il ricorso al contributo di servizi preposti al sostegno educativo alla famiglia e alla genitorialità che, segnati da costanti problematicità evolutive, necessitano di una cura nella messa a punto del setting (includendo il monitoraggio, la revisione e la supervisione che ne devono supportare la qualità) anche in termini di specifici compiti di sviluppo e di educazione, per ciascuno e tutti i membri, e di formazione iniziale e in servizio delle figure secondo una prospettiva e una professionalità tipicamente pedagogiche e di Educazione degli Adulti. Sulla base delle presenti considerazioni, l'articolo, avvalendosi di istanze teoriche volte alla ricostruzione della complessità della famiglia, degli aspetti critico-problematici dei servizi e della formazione iniziale e in servizio delle figure professionali a valenza pedagogica come fattore culturale-professionale- esistenziale, traduce il tema restituendo alcuni riscontri, emersi da una ricerca qualitativa sul campo nel territorio di Reggio Emilia, in termini di nuclei emergenti dalla rapportualità tra famiglie (come ambienti e/o sistemi educativi) e servizi di educativa familiare.
